Welcome to AccessAbility Kids! I'm Ms. Kerry, a licensed speech-language pathologist and Orton-Gillingham reading tutor in Charleston, SC. I grew up in Syracuse, NY and received my undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. I then moved to Washington, D.C., where I completed my master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology at The George Washington University. In 2019, I moved to Charleston, SC and have been loving it ever since!
I am excited about all things speech and have been very fortunate to work as a speech-language pathologist in a variety of settings simultaneously. Over the past five years, I have worked with pediatrics in their natural environment and in a clinical setting. For the last two years, I have also worked with adults in a hospital setting. I received my training in Orton-Gillingham in February of 2023 through the IMSE program. If I'm not doing speech or reading therapy, you will probably find me training for a marathon or playing pickleball!
AccessAbility Kids utilizes a patient-centered, evidence-based approach to pediatric speech therapy and reading tutoring. A patient-centered approach prioritizes access to services, individualized treatment plans and comprehensive care. We support your whole child by understanding what tools help your child thrive. For speech therapy, a child may benefit from movement-based activities to increase engagement. For reading therapy, AccessAbility Kids integrates multi-sensory techniques to promote generalization of skills.
